Lantern Walk

This shawl was designed in collaboration with Ellen from Mrs Lam Yarns.

The yarn and shawl are both inspired by the Mid-Autumn festival celebrated in Chinese and other east Asian cultures. The shawl specifically references the tradition of walking with lit lanterns at night and the use of lotus as an ingredient in the moon cakes that are made for the festival. It is made up of a central cable panel inspired by lanterns, alongside eyelets to represent sparkling lights in the night sky. The bottom section of the shawl features a beautiful lace motif in the shape of a lotus flower to bring the moon cakes into the design. It is finished with an elegant and pretty looped edging.
