Product Description
This wrap is composed of two distinct lace stitches. The “lesser- known” focal lace stitch is bordered by the “better known” faggotting stitch, which shows off the focal stitch to its best advantage. The wrap is knit out of sport weight yarn on size #6 (4mm) needles. It is knit in a single piece from beginning to end. The lace stitch which is the focal stitch of the wrap, does have a “purl back” row, simplifying the knitting (as contrasted with a “true” lace stitch.)
Skill Level: Beginner + - Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting).
The pattern for the stitch is both charted and written out line by line.
There are also instructions for an optional crocheted edging contained within the pattern.
Any heavy fingering or sport weight yarn that yields 4 sts/inch on size US #6 (4.00mm) (in lace stitch) will work for this shawl
