Product Description
Teagan is a bold infinity scarf worked in entralac. Each row of squares is worked in a different color making the scarf versatile for a variety of outfits.
Entralac can be worked in round. However, this garment is designed for beginners, so I worked it flat and sewed up the sides.

K903 – Teagan Infinity Scarf
What is Being Made
The Teagan Infinity Scarf is a bold, circular cowl-style scarf designed by Nazanin Fard. This downloadable knitting pattern creates a finished infinity scarf measuring 24 inches (60 cm) in circumference, perfect for wrapping around the neck multiple times or wearing as a single loop. The design showcases a striking color-blocked aesthetic using four distinct yarn colors that create visual interest and dimension throughout the finished piece.
Techniques Used
The Teagan Infinity Scarf is constructed using the entrelac technique, a sophisticated knitting method that creates interlocking squares or rectangles. This technique involves working in sections rather than continuous rounds, building the fabric through a series of base triangles and side triangles that interlock to form a cohesive, textured fabric. The entrelac method allows each row of squares to be worked in a different color, creating the bold color-blocking effect that defines this design. This advanced structural approach transforms simple knit and purl stitches into a complex, visually striking pattern.
Stitches Used
The pattern employs fundamental knitting stitches worked in a systematic sequence:
- Knit stitch (K) – the basic foundation stitch
- Purl stitch (P) – used to create texture and structure within the entrelac blocks
- Stockinette stitch (St st) – the primary fabric texture used throughout the design
The pattern begins with base triangles worked in rows, alternating knit and purl rows while progressively increasing stitches. Subsequent rows incorporate side triangles to complete the entrelac framework. The stitch gauge is 26 stitches and 32 rows over 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch after wet blocking, which is essential for achieving the correct finished dimensions.
Materials
The Teagan Infinity Scarf pattern calls for sport weight yarn, with the sample project worked in Kraemer Yarns Perfection sport weight. This yarn blend consists of 30% Merino Wool and 70% Acrylic, providing a balance of natural fiber warmth and synthetic durability. The total yardage requirement is 400 yards (366 meters), distributed across four 100-gram balls in coordinating colors:
- 1 ball Jelly (Color A)
- 1 ball Butter Cream (Color B)
- 1 ball Valentine (Color C)
- 1 ball Tweet (Color D)
Knitting needles required include 24-inch (60 cm) circular needles in US size 3 (3.25 mm), which accommodate the circumference of the finished infinity scarf. A tapestry needle is also needed for weaving in yarn ends and finishing the project. The pattern recommends wet blocking to achieve the specified gauge and ensure proper stitch definition in the entrelac squares.
Difficulty Level
This pattern is rated as beginner level, making it accessible to knitters new to the craft. Despite the sophisticated entrelac technique, the pattern uses only basic knit and purl stitches, allowing beginners to learn advanced structural methods while working with familiar stitch fundamentals. The step-by-step progression from base triangles through side triangles provides clear guidance for understanding how entrelac construction works.
