Jeg Lagde Meg

In the Norwegian folk song Jeg Lagde Meg (As I Lay Down), the singer finds out that his beloved is ill. He hurries to her side only to find that he has arrived too late and she has died. He then sings of his grief - no one has been loved more than she.
