Irish Moss Cabled Mitts

Be ready for St. Patrick’s Day with the Irish Moss Cabled Mitts. With a simple construction design even beginner knitters will feel comfortable knitting these mitts. The mitts are constructed by first knitting the arm cuff. With simple increases applied to fit the thumb, and finally ending with the addition of the decorative cuff on the palm of the hand. The fuzzy yarn used on the cuff in the image was a discontinued yarn that can be replaced by the yarn listed. Sizes are XS to XL.

Skills used are knit, purl, slip stitches, Knitted Cast On, Elastic Bind Off, M1 make one, and YO yarn over. The pattern uses 10.5 US Straight Knitting Needles and the yarns used in the pattern photo are for the Main Color - Caron Simply Soft Pistachio and Unforgettable Sugarcane Worsted 4 and for the contrasting color Contrasting Color - Caron Simply Soft Dark Sage Worsted 4 and a discontinued yarn so you can substitute Woolike Yarn Olive Super Fine 1. Just one skein each will be enough to make the mitts.
