Interlock Socks

I wanted a pattern that used up leftover sock yarn that was not just plain stripes. I came up with this surprisingly stretchy simple stranded design that has interlocking diagonal spokes.

It can be made with any (sensible) multiple of 4 stitches – it does not need to be knitted to a specific gauge so will work with a range of sock yarns to produce whatever width socks you want.

Different foot lengths are achieved by knitting extra rows - there are choices within the pattern for these.

The number of extra rows required (if any) will depend upon the achieved row gauge and required foot length.

The total foot length (including toe and heel) will measure 8.0 inches at 12 rows/inch, 8.7 inches at 11 rows/inch and 9.6 inches at 10 rows/inch with no extra rows added.

Two pattern charts (left sock and right sock) are provided for mirror image socks if that is your preference.
