Hope Springs Mittens

A pair of warm and cosy fairisle mittens designed to compliment my Hope Springs Hat & Cowl.

Materials

I've used the same yarn as the hat and almost the same colours. If you have made the hat already and have a little of the background yarn left as well as all the contrast yarns, then just buy one more ball of background yarn and you're all set! (Total for background yarn approx. 30g, contrast yarns approx. 24g in total).

Size

They are one size, to fit 7.5" hand but you could change your needle size for a slightly smaller/larger mitten. I lightly felted mine as well to help keep the wind out.

They feature a ‘Selbu’ style thumb, with the gusset stitches put on hold by being knitted with waste yarn, then picked up again later.

You will need to be familiar with stranded knitting and working in the round.

If you would prefer fingerless gloves, a separate pattern is available.
