What is Being Made

Hello Bunny is a small knitted stuffed toy designed by Phoenixknits, standing approximately 6 inches high when completed. This beginner-friendly project creates a charming amigurumi-style bunny using basic knitting techniques and simple construction methods.

Craft and Primary Technique

This project uses knitting as the primary craft method. The toy is constructed by knitting flat pieces that are then joined together through a seaming process. The designer notes that a mattress stitch or similar joining form is preferable for creating neat, invisible seams on this small stuffed toy.

Stitches and Stitch Patterns Used

Hello Bunny employs fundamental knitting stitches suitable for beginners:

• Stocking stitch (Ss) - created by alternating knit and purl rows to form the smooth, classic knit fabric used throughout the body

The body is worked primarily in stocking stitch over 21 rows, with strategic increases at the beginning to expand from 12 stitches to 36 stitches, then decreases toward the end to close the piece.

Materials and Yarn
