The perfect “old man” sweater for your little man! This bulky fit, top-down raglan cardigan, knit mostly in stockinette, has a thick, warm, double layered shawl collar.

It is available in 6 months (12 months, 18 months, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12) years.

Materials needed: 400 (480, 540, 600, 880, 1100, 1300, 1550, 1750) yards – 365 (440, 495, 550, 800, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1600) meters - worsted weight yarn able to get gauge (20 stitches and 26 rows per 4 inch – 10 cm in stockinette) US 7 – 4.5 mm circular and/or double pointed needles US 6 – 4.0 mm circular and/or double pointed needles 8 stitch markers 4 (4, 4, 6, 6, 6, 6, 8, 8) buttons – ¾ to 1 in – 19-25 mm

Chest Measurements: 20 (22, 23, 25, 28, 30, 31 ½, 33, 35) in – 51 (56, 58.5, 63.5, 71, 76, 80, 84, 89) cm

Difficulty: Advanced beginner - intermediate - The buttonband is shaped and knit along with the rest of the sweater, and then folded in and seamed. Knowledge of raglan construction and shaping would be valuable, although all instructions are written out clearly in the pattern. Buttonhole or blanket stitch is used to seam together the double layered button holes.
