Gemma's Cowl

Here comes Gemma's Cowl, a very quick knit - perfect for gift knitting. It features a combination of lace and cables that is easy enough for someone who wants to try these techniques, but also interesting enough for someone with more experience. The Chiri Alpakka yarn is pure luxury with its mixture of supersoft and snuggly fibres. Maybe you should just gift it to yourself.

The pattern was named by knitsewcrochet in a contest held in my Ravelry group. Here's what she said about it: „It is so beautiful! I immediately thought of “Gemma” = alternative name for Alphecca astr. which is a star in the constellation Corona Borealis (Nördliche Krone) It looks like the northern lights (intertwined lights at the night sky) and cold like ice crystals. I could imagine the Snow Queen in the so-called fairy tale of Christian Anderson wearing it…“
