Attached I-cord trim provides a raised edge to hold minor spills. I added a swirl of puffy paint to the bottom for a non-skid surface. There is about 30-40 percent loss of size when felting so it seems oversized while knitting. Cascade 220 has such a wonderful choice of bright colors. Other designs can be added using the same techniques.
