If you can knit and purl you can do this.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI used Stylecraft Special DK in Fiesta and Candyfloss (about 500 metres of each colour, with extra for the border). Any two contrasting colours will work. The shading in the fairy’s wings is very subtle and the photos do not do it justice.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe main part of the blanket is approximately 70 cm by 90 cm (28” by 36”). You could make a much wider border all round to make it afghan size for an older child. It can be made in any type of yarn.
