Product Description

These little rabbits are small enough to sit in an egg cup, and would make a super Easter gift as an alternative to chocolate and candy. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, each bunny is knitted in DK weight yarns. You only require a small amount of yarn (15g should be more than adequate), so this is a super pattern for using up ends of skeins/balls. Each rabbit is knitted flat on single pointed needles (not in the round). For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.

Egg Cup Bunny Knitting Pattern by Amanda Berry

What is Being Made

The Egg Cup Bunny is a small stuffed toy rabbit designed to fit inside an egg cup. These diminutive bunnies are charming decorative pieces or gifts, measuring small enough to nestle perfectly in a standard egg cup. The design creates a complete three-dimensional bunny figure with distinct features including a head, body, and characteristic rabbit proportions.

Knitting Techniques and Construction

This beginner-friendly knitting pattern uses fundamental techniques suitable for those new to the craft. The bunny is constructed using basic knitting methods on single-pointed needles, with pieces that are subsequently seamed together using a darning needle. The pattern employs straightforward shaping to create the bunny's rounded form and proportions. Assembly involves stuffing the completed knitted pieces with toy filling to achieve a soft, three-dimensional plush toy.

Stitches Used

The pattern utilizes essential knitting stitches appropriate for beginner crafters. The primary abbreviation referenced is k for knit stitch, indicating that the pattern relies on fundamental knit stitches as the foundation of the design. This straightforward stitch approach makes the pattern accessible to those developing their knitting skills.
