Let’s be honest – what other small country has so many cultural treasures to offer along with warm people and wonderful scenery? My favourite by far are the Azulejos, the ornamental tiles that can be found on houses as well as in naves.

This is why I had to do a knitting project inspired by the Azulejo style, here one with a flower motif in the center. The detailed tile interpretation needs some concentration from whoever is knitting. I gave myself some slack on the backside and knitted a pepita pattern. In the end, I got an Azulejocushion cover that has a completely different but just as pretty design on the back.
