Crochet Critter from Leftover Yarn

This pattern is a cute way to use up leftover yards of #4 size worsted weight yarns. People of all ages like these. I have used these for years in place of candy for Halloween treats. They are simple and quick to make as I've been able to crochet one in about 5 minutes (not counting time to glue on the eyes). I have even tied short pieces of yarn together to make one and used up more scraps that way.

This came to me from a student in my class who got it at a craft fair and asked me to make a pattern from her sample. Pre-internet days I had no place to search for it, and haven't found any online since. The only ones online are my creations.

I take a pencil case with scraps of yarn, an F and G crochet hook, folding scissors, and yarn needle with me to appointments. I can make lots of these while I wait, and be ready for the next craft fair or Halloween night. Many people think they are so cute they put them on their desk at work.
