Cozy Cable Lace Cuneate Knit Shawl by Linda Lehman
What Is Being Made
The Cozy Cable Lace Cuneate is a right angle triangular shawl designed by Linda Lehman for Wearable Art Emporium. This wearable art piece functions as a warm wrap suitable for fall evenings, combining ornate cable work with delicate lace elements. The pattern offers two size options: a larger wrap and a smaller wrap, allowing knitters to choose based on their yarn availability and desired finished dimensions.
Knitting Techniques and Stitch Work
This intermediate to intermediate-plus knitting pattern emphasizes ornate cable work as its signature design element. The shawl features a very ornate cable as its focal point, which is intentionally accented by lace ladders that create visual contrast and texture variation throughout the piece. The borders are finished with seed stitch, providing a clean, textured edge that frames the central cable and lace design.
The pattern assumes knitters have a good working knowledge of cabling techniques before beginning. The cable work alone is described as qualifying knitters as master knitters, indicating the complexity and precision required for this element. The combination of cables, lace, and seed stitch creates a sophisticated, show-stopping finished product.
