Product Description
Contrail is a garter and slipped stitch shawl, knitted with two colours of fingering / 4 ply yarn. It is an asymmetric triangular shawl, knitted on the bias, increasing outwards from the top right point of the triangle.
Yarn 764 yards/700 metres yarn: Main Colour 382 yards/350 metres; Contrast Colour 382 yards/350 metres.
Shown in Adagio Mills Alpaca 4 ply (100% Alpaca fingering yarn; 191 yards/175 metres per 1.75 oz/50 grams) in Clouds, 2 balls, and Concerto, 2 balls.
Needles & Notions US 6 / 4 mm circular needles, 30 to 42 inches (75 cm to 110 cm) long; Removeable stitch marker (optional); tapestry needle.
Gauge 18 sts and 36 rows per 4 inches (10 cm) in garter stitch after blocking. Gauge is not crucial but a different gauge will alter the finished size, drape and amount of yarn required.
Finished Measurments Wingspan 86 inches (218.5 cm); Depth 17 inches (43 cm) after blocking.
