I don't tend to buy unnecessary things and had always thought point protectors an unneccesary item. However, on my current project (a Cornish Guernsey) I have a lot of stitches in a fine wool on beautifully slick needles leading to quite a few instances of lost stitches! These point protectors make sure that when I take my work out everything is where I left it! Wonderful!
