Chain Link Mitts

These beautifully intricate mitts are the perfect project for advanced knitters. Knit stitch chains cross and interlock on a mesh background. The complexity of the stitches engages the mind, and the stretchiness of the fabric means the finished mitts should fit most adults. Look for my other Chain Link patterns!

Yarn: DK weight, approx. 119 yds (109 m) to 240 yds (220 m).

Needles: one set U.S. size 6 (4.0 mm) DPNs.

Optional extra needles: U.S. Size 5 (3.75 mm) or U.S. Size 4 (3.5 mm) DPNs for ribbing.

Gauge: In body pattern 24 stitches and 40 rows, worked in the round and unblocked = 4 in. x 4 in (10 cm x 10 cm).

Notions: cable needle, BOR marker, tapestry needle.

Finished Measurements: 7.5” (19 cm) circumference, blocked. Length is 6” (15 cm) at minimum, but can be as long as you want! Sample shown is 9.5”(24 cm) long, blocked.

Techniques Used: Knits, Purls, Knitting through the back loop, Twists, Cables, Yarn Overs, Decreases, Slipped Stitches and Moved Markers.
