This beanie pattern was inspired by the cardinal flower and comes in several versions: small and large worsted weight version, and a fingering weight version.
Gauge Worsted weight: 17 stitches and 9 rows = 4 inches in double crochet Fingering weight: 34 stitches and 18 rows = 4 inches in double crochet

Worsted weight large: 22" circumference, 9" height (225 yd main color, 75 yd brim color) Sample used Hudson + West Co. Forge in Evergreen and Rurulanas 100% Merino

Note that the hat will stretch, and you will want some negative ease.
Hook: 6 mm for worsted weight, 2.5 mm for fingering weight
