What Is Being Made

The Cannon Street collection features two coordinated knit garments: a fitted cardigan and a matching pullover sweater. Both designs are intended to be worn close-fitting, with options for zero ease or up to 2 inches of positive ease at the bust, allowing for customizable fit preferences. The cardigan version includes a button band front and is available in eight sizes ranging from XS to 4XL, while the pullover offers the same comprehensive sizing range.

Sizing and Yardage

Pullover: Available in sizes XS(S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL) with bust measurements of 32(35.5, 38.25, 41, 44.5, 47, 50.75, 53.25) inches. Yardage requirements range from 900 yards for XS to 1750 yards for 4XL.

Cardigan: Offered in the same eight sizes with bust measurements of 33(36.5, 39.25, 42, 45.5, 48, 51.75, 54.25) inches when buttoned. The cardigan front is 1 inch wider due to the button band. Yardage ranges from 950 yards for XS to 1800 yards for 4XL.

Materials and Tools

• Yarn: Worsted weight wool yarn. The pattern is shown in Berroco Ultra Alpaca in 'berry pie mix' and 'redwood mix', and Cascade 220 Heathers in 'summer sky' and 'aporto'
• Needles: 4.5mm/US #7 needles and 4.0mm/US #6 needles, 24-inch circular needles
• Notions: Stitch markers (at least 2 capable of being opened and closed), stitch holders or waste yarn for holding stitches set aside for neckline, tapestry needle, and 6 buttons measuring ¾-inch wide (cardigan only)

Gauge and Stitches

The pattern is worked to a gauge of 18 stitches and 26 rows over 4 inches in the primary stitch pattern. Needle size should be adjusted as needed to obtain this gauge, or according to personal preference.

Knitting Techniques

The Cannon Street designs employ circular needle knitting techniques, allowing for seamless construction. The use of stitch markers and stitch holders indicates shaping through increases and decreases, typical of fitted garment construction.
