What is Being Made

Techniques Used

This intermediate-level knitting project employs several key techniques. The sweater is constructed using circular needles and the magic loop method for sleeve shaping, allowing for seamless knitting in the round. The pattern requires working with stitch markers and holders or waste yarn for managing stitches during construction. Buttonholes are incorporated into the design, requiring a small crochet hook (approximately 1.25mm) to finish the openings neatly.

Materials Required

• Needles: US4 (3.5mm) circular needle (40 cm long) for ribbing and smaller gauge work, and US6 (4mm) circular needle (40 cm long) for the main body. Additional US4 (3.5mm) and US6 (4mm) double-pointed needles or longer circular needles are needed for the magic loop method when working sleeves.
• Notions: Six stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn for managing stitches, a tapestry needle for weaving in ends, and a small crochet hook (approximately 1.25mm) for finishing buttonholes. Approximately 32 to 54 buttons depending on size selection.
