Product Description
A friend asked me to crochet some bees for a Beltane project. I couldn't find any patterns that I liked. While they were all good patterns, they were all just orb bees. The cute fuzzy bee a child would draw. I wanted something a little more true to life. So I made my own.
I made a lot of my own…
Using the suggested yarn and hook size (DK, 2.5mm) this pattern will make a 5cm long bee. Just perfect for a key chain or bag charm. It will also scale up perfectly, using heavier yarn and a larger hook, to give you a much bigger bee. I use 3 DK strands held together and 5mm hook to produce a palm sized bee,
This PDF pattern includes written instructions, notes on abbreviations, joining rounds, and colour changes. You'll use a magic ring and single crochet stitches to make the body, a bobble stitch for the eyes, and chains, slip stitches, single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet to make the wings.
