Product Description
Two different patterns for highly personalized bookmarks. They were designed by Oito Crochet for Valentine's Day but they will allow you to show, all year round, your love or tenderness to someone you care about. Red, the color of lovers, can therefore be replaced by the favorite color of the person who will receive it. These bookmarks are not very difficult to make, they just require regular work. The PDF includes a main diagram and 6 detail diagrams as well as a step-by-step explanation with 39 photos.

What is Being Made
This is a decorative crochet bookmark featuring a heart motif, designed by independent designer OITo Crochet. The finished bookmark measures approximately 12.5 cm in length by 6 cm in width, making it a practical accessory for book lovers. Craft and Techniques
This is a crochet project that utilizes fundamental crochet techniques to create a delicate, wearable bookmark. The pattern includes detailed instructions for executing various crochet stitches and techniques, with resources provided for both English and French-speaking crafters. The design incorporates color-changing techniques, allowing crafters to create multi-colored heart designs. The pattern includes guidance on reading crochet diagrams and selecting complementary color combinations to achieve the desired aesthetic effect.
Stitches Used
The bookmark pattern employs a range of crochet stitches to create texture and structure:
- Chaînette (Chain) – the foundational stitch used to begin the project
- Maille coulée (Slip Stitch) – used for joining and creating seamless transitions
- Maille serrée (Single Crochet) – provides tight, dense fabric
- Bride (Double Crochet) – creates medium-height stitches for structure
- Double bride (Treble) – taller stitches that add height and openness
- Triple bride (Triple Treble) – the tallest stitches in the pattern for delicate, lacy sections
Materials and Tools
This bookmark pattern is worked with Cotton 10 thread, a lightweight 3-ply yarn weight that creates a delicate, refined finished product. The pattern recommends using a smaller crochet hook than the standard size suggested by the yarn manufacturer, a professional tip particularly important for crochet jewelry and small decorative items like bookmarks. This technique ensures tighter stitches and better definition of the intricate heart design. The finished piece is lightweight and durable, perfect for daily use as a bookmark.
Pattern Format
