Bemidji Tunisian Cowl

Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop 2014

This interesting cowl is made with Tunisian crochet (also known as Afghan stitch). Use two colors of yarn for an interesting striped effect or just one color for a subtler style.

Finished Size: 8" tall x 11" wide; pattern can be lengthened by repeating stitch pattern

Gauge: 20 sts/4" in Tunisian Simple Stitch (TSS)

Materials:

• Hazel Knits Lively DK (merino/nylon; 275 yards) - one skein each of two contrasting colors - or other DK weight yarn (please note - when using Lively DK, you should be able to get a second cowl in the reverse colors from two skeins)
• Flexible Afghan Hook - size J/6mm

Row A of the Chevron Stitch Pattern should be - (TSS2tog)3x, (M1, TSS)6x, (TSS2tog)6x, repeat from * to * to end, ending with (TSS2tog)3x; RP
