Product Description
Beachcomber Beanie Knitting Pattern
The Beachcomber Beanie was inspired by a love of exploring the beaches of B.C. One of my favourite activities is to head to the beach at low tide and hop from tidepool to tidepool along a rocky shore in search of marine life. I have some of my happiest memories spending hours with friends and family searching for perfect shells, sand dollars, or, if we were lucky, an octopus hiding under rocks.

Beachcomber Beanie by Northern Knits and Purl
What is Being Made
The Beachcomber Beanie is a knitted hat designed by Natasha of Northern Knits and Purl. This intermediate-level knitting project draws inspiration from the designer's love of exploring the beaches of British Columbia, particularly the rocky shores and tidepools of Vancouver Island's West Coast. The beanie captures the spirit of beachcombing adventures and the memories associated with searching for shells, sand dollars, and other marine treasures along the shoreline.
Craft and Techniques
This project is created using the knitting craft. As an intermediate-level pattern, the Beachcomber Beanie is suitable for knitters who have progressed beyond beginner skills and are ready to tackle more complex stitch patterns and shaping techniques. The pattern employs knitting methods that create a finished hat suitable for everyday wear, with construction techniques typical of hat knitting including shaping for the crown and finishing techniques for a polished final product.
Materials
The Beachcomber Beanie is worked in 4-ply yarn weight, which is a medium-weight yarn that provides good stitch definition and drape. Knitters will need appropriate knitting needles sized to work with 4-ply yarn, following the specific needle size recommendations provided in the pattern instructions.
Pattern Format and Usage
This pattern is available as a downloadable PDF for personal use only. The pattern content is protected and may not be distributed, altered, or sold. Finished Beachcomber Beanies can be shared on social media by tagging @northernknitsandpurl on Instagram with the hashtag #beachcomberbeanie, or by adding a project to Ravelry under the designer's username NKPdesigns.
