Baby Bear

This is a pdf knitting pattern, written in English and using standard US terminology, for you to knit a 5" teddy bear photo prop to be used with supervision during your newborn to sitter photography session. It is not a toy.

This pattern is well-suited to a beginning knitter or to someone who prefers not to fiddle with a lot of tiny pieces as this bear is knit flat in one piece then seamed, using worsted weight yarn on 5mm (US8) needles.

*use DK weight yarn (or Belangor angora) and 4mm (US6) needles for a 4" version of this bear*

You will need to know how to cast on and off, knit, purl, knit two stitches together.

My gauge: 18 sts and 24 rows is 10x10 cms.
