Awesome Ocean Mosaic Square: Sammy the Seahorse

This pattern is for an overlay mosaic crochet square that can be used in other types of projects, such as blankets, pillows, satchel bags, table mats, etc.

Any yarn or hook will work, depending on the desired size of the finished square. I used yarn weight of 4 with a 5.5 hook, which creates a square of 13.5” x 13”.

You will need 2-3 colors of yarn - the sample image uses green for the border & seaweed, and coral for the seahorse, all in the same rows. I have instructions on how to incorporate the 2nd color into the row, but you could do this pattern in 2 colors if you want to keep it simple.

This is a great way to use up scraps! For aran/worsted #4 yarn, You will need approx 2 oz of the background color and 1-1.5 oz of each color for the green & coral areas.
