Product Description
Anning, is a development of another crochet shawl I have released, She Sells Sea Shawls; Version 2.0 if you will. The inspiration for these shawls came from the historical figure, Mary Anning, a 19th century fossil hunter who challenged the paleontology establishment in the pursuit of recognition for her work. Anning is something of a local celebrity to the town of Lyme Regis in Dorset. The layers of puff stitches and lace panels in both these shawls reference the geological layers found along Dorset's 'Jurassic Coast'.
