Then I saw wrap skirts, and decided to make a version of one. Skirt shown above is tied on loose and high, Anna was sleeping! She was 6 weeks old at the time.
Finished size: 7 ½ inches waist to hem 23 inches wide at waist.
Easily fits all little girls up to 18” waist. (Anna was in Newborn clothes in pic)
You will need: 1 skein DK (light worsted) weight yarn, about 250-275 yards(I used Bernat Baby Jacquards, which is 346 yards , and had enough left to make a matching hat!) 1 pair size 6 4mm knitting needles 1 H/8 5mm crochet hook
Gauge: Knit: 22 sts by 30 rows= 4” Crochet: 4 rows= 2” high 1Vstitch+1 shell stitch= 1.5” wide
