As light as an angel’s wings, this is a soft lacy triangular shawl that is perfect for summer evenings. It has a simple design which is very easy to memorise and very quick to make. It uses less than 50g of laceweight mohair yarn, which helps in ensuring it is light but also warm enough to keep the chill off. The shawl is worked from the bottom point upwards. It is important that you check your tension, this is an open design and requires a fairly loose tension to look good. You may need to increase your hook size to get the correct finish. The pattern has written instructions in both English and US crochet terms.

This triangular shawl measures 160cm wide by 80cm deep when finished, making it a generous wrap suitable for draping over shoulders or wearing as an elegant accessory. The design is inspired by the delicate nature of angel wings, creating an airy, ethereal garment that provides warmth without bulk.
The Angel Wisp Shawl is worked from the bottom point upwards, beginning with a small foundation chain that is joined into a ring. The pattern uses English crochet terminology throughout, with a complete abbreviations guide provided. The combination of these stitches with strategic spacing creates the delicate, lacy appearance characteristic of the design.
The Angel Wisp Shawl requires less than 50g of laceweight mohair yarn, making it an economical project that produces a substantial finished garment. The use of laceweight yarn in combination with the open stitch pattern creates a fabric that is exceptionally light and airy while maintaining enough warmth to provide comfort during cool evenings. Mohair's natural properties contribute to the shawl's soft texture and subtle sheen. The pattern is provided in downloadable PDF format, available for immediate access and printing.
This pattern is rated as intermediate difficulty, making it suitable for crocheters who have mastered basic stitches and are ready to work with more complex stitch combinations and shaping. The simple, repeatable pattern sequence makes it manageable for this skill level, while the laceweight yarn and delicate stitchwork provide enough challenge to develop advancing skills.
