Amethyst mitts

I found myself in a purple mood one day, and this beautiful skein of yarn was hiding in my stash, just waiting for the right design. And so the amethyst mitts were born. The simple textured design is perfect for multi-colored yarns. These mitts work up quickly, making them ideal for gift or sale. The length can be easily adjusted. Make a pair in all of your favorite colors!

While Red Heart Gemstone is marketed as a bulky weight yarn, I have found that it works up more like a worsted weight yarn. If you choose to make this pattern with a true bulky weight, you may need to change hook size and/or make a smaller mitt size to get the fit you want.
