Alcañiz Cowl

A little bouldering spot in Eastern Spain once gave us refuge from the aftermath of an incredible storm at home in Portugal. The storm coincided with a six week period of continuous rain and we were left without power. We managed to get some respite at a beautiful campsite near Alcañiz. I drafted this pattern whilst hiding out here. The pretty cable motif symbolises the intense driving rain and the finished cowl offers warmth and protection.

This project uses 60-65g sport weight yarn. The cowl is knitted in the round, on circular needles from the bottom to the top. It features a gorgeous and memorisable cable motif that is repeated across the entire cowl. It is a rhythmic, satisfying knit that works up quickly. The pattern is easily modifiable if you are looking for something bigger or smaller.
