Willowbrook (named after the street I used to live on, in Toronto), is a long triangular shawlette that is just the right length to wrap around the neck once. Garter stitch is knit to a looser gauge to create a soft cushy fabric that drapes nicely. The lacy edge provides interest and charm.
This shawlette can take you through all of the seasons. The shape and weight are ideal to wear underneath a coat - the tapered ends can be tucked into look like a cowl. For warmer months, it can guard against evening chills or excessive air-conditioning. It is knit side to side, from one point to the other.
It’s perfect for a Gradient yarn, or it can showcase a beautiful variegated or handspun yarn. It’s easy to make the shawl bigger or smaller, depending on the yarn you have. Instructions are provided to help you make the most of your yarn.
Pattern has been test knitted using several different yarns. Lace pattern is both charted and written.
