Willow & Lark Ramble
Puddle Blue - Melange (120)

I have knitted a dress and cardigan for my granddaughter and a cardigan for my grandson which turned out so beautifully and soft.
This is the fifth time I have bought Willow and Lark 'Ramble', and I have found it very variable in quality. Navy and Maroon were soft and a joy to knit with. Rhubarb and Battleship Grey were much harder and not so nice to knit with. However I bought a packet and a half of colour 108, which I would call donkey brown, and it is, without doubt, the worst wool I have knitted with in thirty odd years, if not more. It splits very badly, is uneven and has a horrible 'handle'. I was doing a sweater for my husband. I think I will have to give it to a charity shop because it looks so poorly knitted. I am a knitter of 60 years experience - I know that this sweater looks like a dog's dinner and it is a pattern that I have knitted very many times before. I would be ashamed to let anyone know that I had knitted it. I have never knitted with such poor quality wool. A good Acrylic yarn would have given a far better result. I won't be buying this yarn again until there is some consistency in the spinning and the whole handle of the yarn is improved. I am almost at the end of the last sleeve, and I know the horrors of this wool can't be blocked out. I will not be buying this yarn again, Make the wool consistent and rebadge it so that it is 'new' Ramble. I suspect you are having trouble with the dyes that are not giving a uniform product across the colour range. In order to buy on-line and be satisfied, one has to be able to rely on the quality, and with W & L Ramble, this is not yet possible. It's pot luck! No thanks! No stars at all, but the site does not allow me to give zero stars.
