Product Details
The Vurr sock pattern features subtle mosaic colourwork which works up quickly and is easily memorable. I called the pattern Vurr because it knits up fast and the motif reminds me of a spinning top which is “vurr” in my native Estonian. Mosaic knitting is one of the easiest colourwork techniques. The mosaic pattern knits up using just one of the yarns at a time. The remaining yarn is left hanging at the beginning of the round. Knitting involves slipping the stitches in a round that should be the "other" colour.
Socks are worked from toe up with an option of short row heels or Peasant heels. Size refers to sock foot circumference. Socks can be worked on double pointed needles, two circular needles or on other types of needles convenient for the knitter for knitting small circumferences in the round. The pattern uses metric and imperial systems.
