Vest or Cardigan in One
Working in my shop in the main street it was quite cold in the mornings but warmed up in the afternoon.
This gave me the idea of knitting a cardigan with detachable sleeves so I didn’t have to go out the back to change into something lighter. I removed the sleeves whilst in the shop leaving me in a vest over my blouse.
I found this worked very well so here is the option for you.
This cardigan can be knitted from many odd balls you have in your stash – BUT they must all have the same tension. Maybe only buy a few balls for the main colour in the bands and the odd square.
Use a different colour for each square in sequence or at random.
Sizing – The main squares of 15 stitches are 3”/7.5cm so times 12 = 36”/91cm bust.
A thicker yarn will equal a larger jacket – knit one 15 stitch square then multiply by the 12 squares for the bust measurement.
