There are many and varied tellings of the Nutcracker story. In some of them, one describes the Mouse King as an evil character, who summons up an army of mice to do battle with The Nutcracker.
My own version of this classic tale sees the joyful Mouse King place healing hands on The Nutcracker, mending his injury and releasing the Prince within...
The Mouse King is a seamless toy knit 'in the round'. His robe and crown are worked separately and sewn in place once the toy is complete.
