The stranded colourwork in this sweet child's jumper is adapted from the lovely Brother Rabbit pattern by English Arts and Crafts designer, William Morris.
The sweater is knitted from the top down. It is mostly worked in the round except for the yoke area above the colourwork, which includes button bands for the shoulder fastening. Short row shaping slightly scoops the front neck. Provisional cast-ons (with a crochet hook) are used at the underarm for a comfortably seamless armhole.
The pattern includes a diagram showing the finished measurements to aid with selecting which size to knit for the lucky recipient.
The sample was knit in Rowan Fine Tweed (now discontinued). A substitute yarn is shown below.
