I have used this yarn a lot in making hospital blankets, and it’s lovely. It crochets up nicely and has lots of lovely colours. I have made quite a few blankets, and it washes very well.

Product Description
Stylecraft Special DK is a 100% acrylic DK yarn in 100g balls, each holding 323yds (295m). It knits to 22 stitches and 30 rows over 10cm on 4.00mm (US 6) needles; recommended crochet hook 4.00mm (F).
Its reputation rests on two things: a very large palette developed to coordinate, and a smoother, softer handle than acrylic usually has. That combination is why it is a standard choice for projects that need a dozen shades to sit together — crocheted squares, stripes, colorwork blankets and children's knits.
Being fully synthetic it is machine washable and hard-wearing, which is what you want in a blanket or anything made for a child.
Care: delicate machine wash at 40°C, low heat tumble dry, cool iron.

I like the range of colours. The yarn washes and wears well, and it is easy to crochet. I am on my 3rd year of making temperature blankets, and the variety of colours has enabled me to choose colours that represent temperature and blend well. This order was for a baby blanket for my great nephew/niece to be.
Always pleased with Stylecraft
I have used Stylecraft many times before and am always pleased with the result. The range of colours is excellent. The yarn is easy to knit and free of breaks. I mostly knit sweaters for my children and grandchildren. The results are lovely soft sweaters, hats, scarves, etc. which wash and wear well. Very well indeed.
My favorite yarn for versatile projects
Stylecraft is my favourite brand, and I've enjoyed the Special DK for quite a while. I'm using it for scarves, jumpers, and neckwarmers. Special DK lends itself so beautifully to the fisherman's rib stitch, so I think the neckwarmer I'm knitting in that stitch will be my favourite.
Can't stop making blankets!
I love the quality of the yarn. My daughter-in-law recommended it. I made one blanket with the DK then made another in Stylecraft Special Aran. I was so impressed by it that I bought enough to make two more! I used a whole ball in each stripe of the first blanket and got more rows but the Aran grows quickly with only 6 rows per ball. I can’t stop making blankets.
Great yarn for autumn projects
I like the range of colours and the excellent price. I use it for our Makers group who are making autumn blankets. I’m a repeat customer, so I know the yarn works up well, that’s why I’m a repeat customer.
Soft and washable, but wool can be heavy
I have been buying this yarn for many years. It is so soft and machine washable, which is great for children's jumpers. I find wool can be heavy compared to the acrylic, and children complain that it tickles, maybe rough.
This is my favorite acrylic. Always consistent in quality and value. Washes up very nicely, gets softer and softer. Great color selection. I’ve made multiple twin sized blankets with Stylecraft and will always come back for more.
This is my go to yarn for many projects as it easy to use and washes well. It has a lovely soft feel and I use it for knitting and crochet. It has a vast selection of colours and goes a long way making it economical for baby and child’s garments.
