Shinkai shawl is a triangle shaped shawl with various stitches. 4 stitches are increased every other row and you can adjust the size as you like with the number of repeats. There are 7 sections in this shawl and you can adjust the size at the stripe or garter sections easily. This is a great project using your leftovers. Enjoy mixing your leftovers and make your beautiful shawl!
MATERIALSYou can use any weight, materials. Please adjust the yardage according to the yarn used. I recommend weighing each yarn and checking the approximate yardage to use them in the pattern effectively.
Needle size: 3.00 mm ( US 21⁄2 ) 32” circular needles, or size to obtain gauge Gauge18 sts 20 rows = 10 cm / 4” in garter st ( blocked ) 20 sts 20 rows = 10 cm / 4” in mesh lace st ( blocked ) 20 sts 24 rows = 10 cm / 4” in moss st ( blocked ) 18 sts 24 rows = 10 cm / 4” in edge lace st ( blocked )
Gauge is not crucial, but it will affect finished size and yardage requirements.
