Product Details
This lightweight lacy scarf is a perfect accessory for in between seasons, when it’s too warm for our cozy wool cowls, and still too cool for bare skin. It features a repeating motif depicting a Japanese folding fan, known as a sensu, and has a garter stitch border around a repeating lace panel. Adjusting the number of lace repeats could also adjust the length of the scarf, making it more customizable.
Materials: The yarn chosen for this scarf features alpaca for warmth and silk for strength that adds a touch of elegance to this project. The sample is made with two skeins of Earth Treasures Yarn: Superfine Airy 3-ply (80% alpaca, 20% soysilk, 210 yards/192 meters) in color Thunderhead (grey).
The pattern calls for a total of 420 yards/384 meters of fingering weight yarn and US size 3/3.25mm needles, or size to obtain gauge: 24 sts/32 rows - 4”/10cm in Stockinette stitch blocked.
The pattern uses a combination of written and charted instruction.
