American knitting terms.
Knit an heirloom blanket for the special baby in your life or a pretty throw for yourself or a special friend. Although the pattern looks complex it is actually easy to knit and uses only knit and purl stitches. Suitable for a beginner with a little experience.
The blanket is reversible, it is pretty on both sides which are like mirror images. On the first side the seed stitch diamonds surround a knit center and are outlined in purls. On the other side the seed stitch diamonds surround a purled center and are outlined in knit.
The pattern gives instructions for many size blankets including lovey, car seat blanket, preemie, cradle, stroller, receiving, swaddling, toddler, lap/wheelchair, throw and large throw.
The pattern calls for #3 baby yarn but #4 yarns will also work.
