My favorite place to be is by the ocean. I love the sound of the waves faithfully lapping onto the shore. I love breathing the salty air and watching the white foam advance and retreat along the beach. The Sea Foam Shawl is perfect for summer days and nights. The open waves of the stitches are fun to create and the easy rhythm of garter stitch is always a welcome friend.
Stitch tutorial available on my YouTube channel - search for Industrial Whimsy. Suggested yarns: cotton blends with linen, silk, bamboo, etc are preferred to give the needed drape to the sea foam stitch. Supplies needed: 600 yards of dk weight yarn, size US9 needle.
