Product Details
’Sailing to Avalon’ alludes to the childhood memories of my dear friend Nora, who spent summers with her extended family at this seaside town. A background bee stitch evokes the hive of activity, with children playing in the sand and water, adults enjoying sunshine and salt air, and everyone buzzing to and fro.
The border, a sinuous, syncopated pattern of cables, suggests both the ropes of small sailboats on the bay and the intertwining of those lives at a fondly remembered moment in time. We all have our own favorite such memories; perhaps you will think of yours as you knit the rich textures of this design.
