Lovely yarn to knit with, part way through a 2 colour patterned cardigan

I'm disappointed with the way this yarn fluffs up / pills when using it and the number of joins in the yarns. I feel that full-priced yarns should not have joins/knots given today's modern production methods. Every ball I have had a join and its very annoying to be half way across a row to find a knot coming up. Rowan needs to improve this aspect of quality.
