What is Being Made

This free knitting pattern from Plymouth Yarn includes three coordinating accessories: a ribbed hat, a pair of leggings, and fingerless gloves. Materials and Yarn

Techniques and Stripe Pattern

Leggings Construction

The leggings are worked in the round on double-pointed needles using k2-p2 ribbing, which creates vertical columns of knit and purl stitches that provide stretch and a classic fitted appearance. Bind off loosely in ribbing to maintain the elastic quality of the ribbed fabric. Make a second legging to match the first. For a larger size, cast on 80 stitches instead of 72.

Hat Construction

The hat begins on a 16-inch circular needle with 88 stitches cast on loosely. A stitch marker is placed to mark the beginning of the round before joining to work in the round. The hat is worked in the same stripe pattern as the leggings and gloves.

Fingerless Gloves
