It’s August and I feel like buying school supplies. I’m not sure why this is such a gratifying task. There’s something about freshly sharpened No.2 pencils, and the linen paper we used for presentations before the digital age. Perhaps it is because I grew up in a family of teachers, and gearing up for the beginning of school was a comprehensive endeavor. This collection, ‘Pencil & Paper’, was inspired by the nostalgia of preparing for a new school year.
Presentation
This intermediate level design is a linen crescent shawl worked from the top down. It features an expanding lace insert in the center. The instructions are charted as well as fully written, and the pattern is suitable for any yarn weight up to worsted. Be sure to adjust your yarn requirements when making substitutions.
