Paintbox Yarns Wool Blend Super Chunky

A really affordable 50/50 wool / acrylic mix. I wanted to replicate the Hope Macaulay big chunky cardi with more reasonably priced yarn and the chunky yarn felt great on 10mm needles but had incredible drape with 12mm and 15mm needles. Knitting worked really well on wooden needles but there was enough friction that metal needles would be good too. Blocking the swatch really made the fabric lovely and smooth and relaxed the stitches to produce just the fabric I was after!

Easy to knit with, knits up really quickly. Lovely colour.

Easy to knit with: pattern comes out well and looks fabulous. The only issue I had was with the website I purchased my Paintbox Yarns Wool Blend Super Chunky from. I needed a couple of balls to complete my jumper and I had to wait for 3 months for the opportunity to purchase more wool. Now I can finally complete my jumper despite starting it last July!!!

The wool is knitting up very nicely - it will be a throw for the bed and will be nice and warm in the winter.

I am totally sold on paintbox yarn. I haven't used this wool, but it's my next project and I can't wait to get started. I bought the green and it is a wonderful rich colour and the feel of the wool is soft and deliciously warm. I am so looking forward to the finished cardigan.
