Marettimo is a relaxed lightweight summer sweater, knit in the round from the bottom up and featuring a simple feather and fan lace detail at the hem and sleeves. The front and back are separated at the armholes and worked flat with short row shaping at the shoulders. Named for a small island off the coast of Sicily, this sweater is the second in my series of designs (Tegna is the first) named for Italian towns where I dream of wearing them someday.
Measurements given are for the finished garment. Designed to fit with 7-11” 18-28cm of positive ease at the bust and 2-3” 5-7.5cm of positive ease at the upper arm.
Yarn: Hedgehog Fibres Sock. A substitute is below.
To choose the right size, measure around the largest part of the bust. Choose a size 7-11” larger than this e.g. my bust measurement is 35” and I knit the M giving me 11.5” inches of positive ease as I like my sweaters a bit oversized. For sleeves, measure your upper arm approx 3" down from the armpit and choose a size 2-3" bigger.
